Overview of Perkins Professional Development

We offer a variety of  credits, depending on the activity, including Continuing Education Credit (CEUs), Professional Development Points (PDPs), ACVREP credits. CTLE credits, Graduate Credit, and ASHA credits.  Please visit our website for information about our current offerings. Links to individual programs are below.

Online Classes 
Online classes are instructor-led,collaborative learning experience with a cohort of professionals with similar needs and interests.  They are asynchronous, meaning the class works through the material together, but does not meet at a specified date or time.
Self-Paced Online Classes

Self-paced online classes (tutorials) combine the guidance of Perkins eLearning online classes with the flexibility of on-demand web content to create a professional development experience focused on each participant's needs and interests. There is no time limit to completing a Perkins Self-Paced Online Class!

Onsite Training

The Perkins Training Center offers training on the Perkins campus in Watertown, MA, as well as locations around the northeastern United States.  Many of these trainings include an online component in addition to the face-to-face training in a blended model.


Classes and Training sessions are open to all! Parents, grandparents, caregivers, and service providers participate along with teachers and therapists on topics of interest to everyone who works with students who are blind or visually impaired, including students with additional disabilities or deafblindness.
